Biography
Clete LoRusso was born on March 18.
Halo 3
Clete "Assault" LoRusso begun his career as a member of Phobia at MLG Meadowlands 2008 with teammates Anthraax, Snuff Said and Squirrel, where they finished 16th. Snuff and Squirrel were subbed for Bradfox2 and Gilkey for San Diego where the group got 21st. He rejoined Snuff for Orlando now with Acid and Goodwill as a member of the Dirty Ghetto Kids, again securing 16th. He and Acid would attend Toronto and Dallas as members of Renegade, finishing 19th with Pilez and Woooly, before breaking into the top 8 with ThuggishKILLA and TricksDaSamurie.
Assault joined Dynasty with ThuggishKilla, TricksDaSamurie and Enable for MLG Meadowlands 2009 getting 17th. Thuggishkilla and TricksDaSamurie would then be swapped for Destin and Max/Pro for both Columbus and Dallas finishing 9th and 8th respectively. He would finish the year on Team Swagger Like Us with Thrust, Dersky and ZooWuu, getting top 8 in Anaheim and 11th in Orlando.
2010 saw Assault join Status Quo with Enable, Ace and Flamesword, to create a team that would last two full years. They came 4th in Orlando, Columbus and Raleigh before placing 7th in D.C.. They would end the year with a 2nd place performance in Dallas.
Halo: Reach
The same roster played at MLG Dallas 2011 and won, netting Assault his first tournament victory and only one to date. The roster then came in 7th at MLG Columbus 2011 before securing 2nd place in Anaheim. The group managed a 5th place showing in Raleigh and 4th in Orlando before ending the year with a 7th place finish in Providence.
Assault finally left Status Quo and joined Carbon for MLG Columbus 2012 with Blaze, Snip3down and Ryanoob, where they finished 7th/8th.
Halo 4
Assault attended the MLG Fall Championship 2012 as a member of Believe the Hype, placing top 8. This BtH roster returned at AGL 8 Knoxville and repeated their top 8 placing.
Halo 2: Anniversary
Assault was signed by OpTic Gaming in 2014. He attended Iron Games Columbus 2014 with the team and placed 3rd. The same roster attended UGC St. Louis 2015 and placed 4th. After replacing Aries with ContrA, OpTic Gaming placed 2nd in HCS Cups #6 and #7, before getting 3rd at Gamers For Giving 2015. OpTic then attended the season finals at PAX East 2015 where they finished a disappointing top 8.
OpTic underwent a roster change in the offseason, swapping out ContrA for Maniac. The new roster's first event together was Iron Games Atlanta 2015, where they finished 6th. They improved slightly on their placing at HCS Indianapolis, finishing 5th, but closed out the season with another 6th place finish at the HCS Season 2 Finals.
Halo 5: Guardians
Assault and OpTic were the only North American team invited to compete at the Gamescom Invitational 2015 four-team event. They were defeated in the first round by Supremacy, finishing in the bottom two. Ace then left the team and was replaced by StelluR. After 4 NA Qualifying cups for the Halo World Championship 2016, Assault left OpTic to form Triggers Pound alongside Cloud, Hysteria and Danoxide. Triggers Pound was eventually signed by Cloud9 and qualified for Worlds with a top 8 finish at the Halo World Championship NA Regional Finals 2016. At Worlds, Cloud9 were upset by the European Epsilon eSports, finishing top 16, the only North American team to not make it out of the group stage. The organization dropped the team shortly after. Assault then joined Team Liquid as coach of a roster including APG, StelluR, Eco and Spartan. Assault soon found himself on the active roster when APG was injured with a concussion, and the team qualified for the Summer 2016 Pro League with him. After a rocky start to the season, Assault was dropped from Liquid.
