Biography
Nick Johnson was born on August 19, 1989. He is from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
Halo 2
Best Man's professional Halo career began in the 2006 MLG season. His first event was MLG Dallas 2006, where his team fLu failed to emerge from the Open Bracket. For the remainder of the season, Best Man placed in the top 20 with a variety of teams and teammates. His highest placing of the season, 14th, came as a member of Gty alongside DrBob, Donut and Overshield. Best Man found his first consistent teammates at the beginning of the 2007 season, forming Antimatter with Eli, Spaniard and 8Ball. The team took 12th place at the kickoff event in Charlotte, but underwent a change between events, replacing Spaniard with Boo. This lead to Best Man's worst placing since his first event - 26th, at MLG Meadowlands. Best Man and Eli then parted ways with Boo and 8Ball in favor of forming Antigravity with Brad and Smoltz. This squad finished 14th in Dallas. Best Man and Smoltz then joined Perfect Balance alongside Mack and Da Beast for the next event in Chicago. In Chicago, Best Man would finish in the top 8 for the first time, as Perfect Balance finished 8th, just in prize money range. Smoltz then left the team and was replaced by the veteran Vash, leading to a 16th place finish at MLG Orlando. Best Man then formed TsK alongside Frosty, Poweezy and Boo. The team very nearly made it into the MLG Las Vegas Championships 2007 championship bracket, finishing 9th.
Halo 3
Best Man had a rocky start to what would end up being his most successful Halo title. He and Frosty started off the 2008 season by joining LeGendZ alongside Defy and Stunner. The team finished a disappointing 23rd at MLG Meadowlands. Best Man then joined The Dynasty alongside ThuggishKilla, TrIcKsDaSaMuRiE and Xiphoz for MLG San Diego, where they finished 24th. For Orlando, Best Man formed PSF (Pancake Strike Force) alongside Gandhi and FeaR, who had recently been dropped from high level teams Carbon and Classic, respectively, as well as Defy. The team finished 12th. FeaR was then replaced by Naded and the team name changed to Legendz for the remainder of the season. In Toronto, Legendz finished 10th. Naded then left the team and was replaced, fittingly, by Legend. The team took 8th place at MLG Dallas, enough for Best Man to earn the 8th seed in his first ever National Championship. At the Las Vegas Championships, Legendz finished 8th, taking home $8,000.
Best Man and Defy went a different direction to start the 2009 season, forming VG The New Order alongside Karma and Naded. Plagued with publicly known chemistry issues, the team finished 9th at MLG Meadowlands and Defy and Best Man left shortly after. Best Man joined Classic alongside Chig, Soldier187 and Legend. They finished 4th in Columbus and 6th in Dallas. Legend was then replaced by GH057ayame for another 6th place finish in Anaheim. At the Orlando National Championships, Best Man and Classic finished 2nd, taking home $60,000, capping off the most successful year of Best Man's career.
To start off the 2010 season, Best Man found himself on Carbon alongside Defy, StrongSide and Walshy. The hyped up squad finished a disappointing 11th at the kickoff event in Orlando, leading to StrongSide's replacement by Naded. Despite an improved 6th place finish, Best Man left the team and joined Triggers Down alongside Hysteria, Neighbor and Totz. They took 3rd at MLG Raleigh and 2nd at MLG D.C., but a less impressive 4th at the Dallas National Championships, nonetheless taking home $28,000 to cap off Halo 3.
Halo: Reach
Best Man and Hysteria stayed on Triggers Down to start the 2011 season, replacing Neighbor and Totz with Heinz and SK. They finished 9th at the kickoff event in Dallas. Initially picking up Defy to replace Heinz going forward, Defy made a late decision to retire and Triggers Down picked up Loki in his place. The new squad finished a disappointing 14th in Columbus. After Columbus, Best Man left to join Turning Point alongside Ninja, Mikwen and Walshy. They finished 7th in Anaheim. Best Man then left Turning Point to join Quantic Fire alongside Arkanum, Royal2 and Clutch. They took 13th in Raleigh, leading to Best Man's return to Triggers Down, this time alongside Arkanum, Goofy and Neighbor. They finished a season-high 6th in Orlando, but could not replicate this at the Providence National Championships, finishing out of the money in 10th place. For the MLG Winter Championship 2012 in Columbus, Best Man formed Shady Halo Kids with Hysteria, Ace and ElamiteWarrior. They finished top 6 at the event.
Halo 4
Best Man competed sparingly in Halo 4, first finishing 4th at the pre-release MLG Fall Championship 2012 event on team Legendary alongside PreDevoNatoR, Cobys2Fast and Sargoth. He competed at two AGL events - AGL 5 Nashville on Fnatic Classic alongside Chig, Mikwen and Russo, finishing top 12, and AGL 7 Knoxville on Slaughterhouse alongside Aries, Neighbor and Regicide, finishing top 6. At AGL 8 Knoxville, Best Man and Neighbor joined forces with Enable and FlamesworD on Status Quo, taking a strong 3rd place finish. Best Man retired shortly after this event.
