Citadel Gaming is an Australian esports organization. Citadel fields teams in games such as Halo 5, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Gears of War, Smite and Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
Biography
Citadel Gaming was founded in December 2013 by Jordan "Sharki" Morris. On February 19, Citadel Gaming made a management change, with Sharki stepping down and handing the organization over to Tristan "Twistys" Garnett and Lachey "Eeyore" Garnett.[1] Their motto is "Towering Over", referring to the tower structure in their logo.[2]
History
Halo 2: Anniversary
Citadel made their debut Halo roster announcement on December 11, 2014. The roster consisted of Xavier "Lunchy" Lang, Brandon "Cloudy" McLeod, Jarrod "TheBro" Thomson and Brad "Stein" Steinbach.[3] On April 11, 2015, Citadel announced a new roster. Lunchy remained, while the rest of the roster was replaced. The new roster consisted of Lunchy, Nick "Trace" Foord, Jesse "Skull" Graetz and Levi "Armada" Stewart.[4] They took 1st place at ACL Brisbane 2015 shortly after the announcement. Between ACL Brisbane and ACL Melbourne 2015, Lunchy split from his teammates to form a new team alongside "Justintiming", "aDark2Remember" and "Slayz" as Citadel Gaming Yellow. Trace, Skull and Armada recruited Jason "Dizary" Foord as the fourth for their roster, Citadel Gaming Blue. At ACL Melbourne, Citadel Gaming Blue defeated Citadel Gaming Yellow and went on to take 2nd place after falling short to "Rehab's For Quitters" (Blaze, Deano, Heff and Seduce) in the finals. Meanwhile Citadel Yellow finished in 4th-5th.
Halo 5: Guardians
On November 30, 2015, Citadel announced its intended roster going into Halo 5 - Lunchy, Brad "Bradlllzzz" Bell, Chris "Havok" Holbert and Sean "Weasel" Simpson,[5] with Peter "Doohfus" Mot as coach.[6] On January 2, Citadel won the first ANZ Qualifier for the Halo World Championship 2016 and became the first team in the ANZ region to qualify for the Halo World Championship ANZ Regional Finals 2016.
