Daniel "D3M0N D" Yakovleff is a Halo esports player, previously a player for Lux Gaming. He is most well known for his time with Believe the Hype, with whom he won the 2009 MLG National Championship.

Biography

Halo 3

Demon D started his MLG career off with a top 12 finish at Meadowlands. The roster consisted of Foulacy, Talent and Twylight. He found success when he joined Believe the Hype and placed 3rd at Meadowlands, which was the opening event. Teammate Cypher was replaced by Soviet and eventually by Maniac. The Believe the Hype roster of Cloud, Clutch and Maniac took 1st place at the MLG Orlando 2009 National Championships. This was the first major tournament win for all 4 members of Believe the Hype and Demon D's only MLG tournament win. Believe the Hype floated around the top 6 for a majority of 2010 but couldn't put together another run to the finals.

Halo Reach

Demon D attended the Raleigh event with the line-up consisting of Brake, Chaser and NocternalKernal. His only placing in Halo Reach ended up being a top 24 performance. Demon D retired from professional gaming shortly after 2011.

Halo 5: Guardians

DEMON D returned to Halo competition in early 2017, first attending UGC St. Louis as a member of Real Fear Gaming alongside Eli Elite, Kaiss and Sorrell. The team finished in the top twenty, barely missing out on the Championship Bracket.

For Worlds season, Demon D bounced from team to team, placing highly in a qualifier as a member of Team Doubted alongside Sorrell, EM TEE KAY and SneakyBran. For the ME Las Vegas LAN qualifier, Demon D and his teammates revived the Believe the Hype name, finishing in the top twenty.

After Worlds season, Demon D and Believe the Hype parted ways with EM TEE KAY and SneakyBran, recruiting veterans Gilkey and PiLEZ in their places. The team had its first top sixteen placing at UMG Daytona. After Daytona, BtH replaced SneakyBran with another veteran - Cloud. BtH attempted to qualify for the Summer 2017 Pro League through the LCQ, but they finished in the top six. Setting their sights on the Open Circuit after failing to qualify for the Pro League, Demon D and Cloud joined Wise Gaming alongside Sorrell and TiZoXiC. After a poor placing in a Legendary Cup, Sorrell was replaced by Nebula. The new Wise roster finished in the top sixteen at DreamHack Atlanta.

For the Fall 2017 Open Circuit, Demon D and Cloud joined French Toast Mafia alongside Artic and Rammyy. After a week, Demon D and Artic left to join Team VT alongside Naded and Claim. The team was signed by CheckSix Gaming shortly after. At DreamHack Denver, CheckSix finished in the top sixteen.

Demon D took a new approach for Halo World Championship 2018 season, returning to Wise Gaming alongside Gilkey, Nebula and KLTNn. After a top sixteen finish at MLG Orlando, KLTNn was replaced by Commonly. At MLG Columbus, Wise finished third in its pool, now needing to win the wild card bracket to qualify for Worlds. They were successful, defeating Mentality Esports and Armada eSports to secure ninth place and the final Worlds spot. At Worlds, Wise finished third in their pool, handily beating Mindfreak but losing to Renegades and TOX Gaming, resulting in a top twelve finish.
