Denial Esports is an American esports organization which fields teams and players in a variety of games.

History

Denial eSports was founded in 2013 by Robby Ringnalda. They have quickly become a major organization, with multiple tournament wins in a variety of games. One of their biggest achievements is their victory in the 2015 Call of Duty Championship, where their CoD team won a $400,000 prize. Denial and its fans identify themselves using the hashtag #WolfPack.

Halo 2: Anniversary

Denial entered the Halo scene on November 17, 2014, announcing the signings of Mikwen, Chigand coach Spikemouth. The next day, they added to the roster, announcing the signing of Cloud. They announced the final piece of their roster on November 20, Reliable.Shortly after, however, Denial released Reliable in favor of picking up Ryanoob.

Denial Halo's first LAN event was Iron Games Columbus 2014, which Chig was unable to attend. As a result, Denial used Clutch as a sub. The team finished in the top 12, losing to OpTic Gaming in Winners' Round 3 and Cloud9 in Losers' Round 5. Denial returned with its proper roster at UGC St. Louis 2015 and the difference was readily apparent. They took 1st place at the event, defeating powerhouse teams Evil Geniuses and Counter Logic Gaming in the process. Denial would stay hot, winning two of the five HCS Cups preceding Gamers For Giving 2015. At the third event of the season, Denial relapsed, finishing 5th after losing to Evil Geniuses in the Winners' Semifinals and Cloud9 in Losers' Round 6. At the HCS Season 1 Finals, the 3rd seeded Denial started out on the right foot, defeating Str8 Rippin 3-1, but were knocked into Losers' in the next round with a close 3-2 loss to CLG. They met a similar fate in Losers' Round 2, losing a very close series to Noble Black and ending their season with a top 6 finish.

Denial's average LAN placing in Season 1 was 5.5 and their total winnings amounted to $16,750 USD.

On March 13, Denial confirmed the departure of Cloud to join CLG. On the same day, they announced the acquisition of his replacement in Heinz. Not done yet, they capped the day off with the announcement that they were parting ways with Ryanoob. On March 15, they announced Ryanoob's replacement - A Pure Gangster.

In the first LAN event of HCS Season 2, Denial made it to the finals, where, despite losing 3-0 to Evil Geniuses in the WB Finals, they nearly pulled off the upset against the same team. Denial took the second series of the event against EG 3-2. As the team coming out of the Losers' Bracket, Denial had to beat EG twice to win the event. Unfortunately for them, EG rebounded, taking the third series 3-1 and ending Denial's tournament with a 2nd place finish. Shortly after the event, Denial announced the signing of Elumnite as a streamer and sub for the organization. Denial finished 2nd in five of the seven cups preceding HCS Indianapolis 2015, but were bested each time by Winterfox or Evil Geniuses. In Indianapolis, Denial again met EG in the Winners' Finals, and nearly pulled off the upset once again, but were defeated 3-2. In the Losers' Finals, Denial were defeated in a very close series by CLG, taking 3rd place for the event. The story remained the same for Denial at the HCS Season 2 Finals, where they again lost a close series to EG in the Winners' Finals and were again eliminated by CLG in the Losers' Finals, this time with a score of 3-1, for another 3rd place finish.

Denial's average placing in HCS Season 2 was 2.67. Their total winnings amounted to $32,600.

Halo 5: Guardians

On August 12, Denial announced on Twitter that they were parting ways with their Halo roster, and that they would be seeking a new team for Halo 5. On August 23, Elumnite confirmed that he too was no longer a part of Denial.

On January 21, 2016, Denial returned to the Halo scene, announcing a roster of ContrA, PreDevoNator, bubudubu, and Huke. The team qualified for the HWC NA Regional Finals 2016 as the 11th seed. At Regionals, Denial were placed in a group with Evil Geniuses, Team EnVyUs and Winterfox. Against expectations, Denial defeated EnVyUs and managed to escape their group and qualify for Halo World Championship 2016. They weren't done there, upsetting Team Liquid and Team Allegiance in the bracket stage before dropping a 4-2 decision to Counter Logic Gaming in the finals, the first major event grand finals for all four members of Denial. At Worlds, Denial placed 2nd in their group, losing 3-0 to Team eLevate. Despite this, they upset Team Liquid 3-2 in the quarterfinals before facing CLG in the semifinals. CLG won 4-2 once again, ending Denial's night with a top 4 finish.

On April 10, 2016, Denial announced the release of Huke and bubu dubu, looking to move forward with ContrA and PreDevoNatoR.Despite this, on April 22, 2016, it was announced that both ContrA and PreDevoNatoR would be joining the Team Allegiance, officially end this chapter of Denial's Halo story.

The next Denial roster was officially announced on April 30, consisting of OGRE2, Arkanum, Nemassist, and Seduce. They qualified for the HCS Pro League Qualification LAN 2016 through an online cup. On May 1, Denial recruited Evil Geniuses Towey as its temporary coach for the Qualification LAN. On May 12, 2016 Arkanum made an announcement that he would not be playing competitive Halo for some time. .

Months later, near the conclusion of the Pro League and Open Circuit seasons, Denial signed the top Open Circuit team at the time - French Toast Mafia, consisting of Rammyy, Falcated, Gabriel, and the returning Cloud. The team took 1st place in the Open Circuit Finals, earning a spot in the Pro League Relegation tournament. Though they defeated OpTic Gaming in the opening round, they were unable to defeat Team Liquid to clinch a spot in the League, and were defeated in a rematch by OpTic in their second chance to earn their spot.
