The online Last Chance Qualifier for the Summer 2016 North American HCS Pro League season takes place from May 21-22, 2016. Halo 5: Guardians is played in 4v4 competition.
Overview
Featuring sixteen invited teams, the Last Chance Qualifier is, true to its name, the last chance for teams to qualify for the Pro League. Originally slated to feature a single-elimination bracket after the group stage, ESL updated the format on May 17th, announcing a switch to a double-elimination bracket.[1]
Format
- Invitational tournament, 16 teams invited through winning open qualifiers or failing to qualify in invitational qualifiers
- Top two qualify for Pro League
- Group stage
- Teams split into four four-team groups
- Top 2 teams in each group advance to bracket stage
- Bracket stage
- Double-elimination bracket
