On September 14, 2016, the first day of the Fall Pro League season, OpTic Gaming announced the release of its roster, consisting of MaNiaC, AcE, APG, and Heinz. Though MaNiaC announced his retirement in the same video, he stated his intentions to play the early matches of the season, prior to the first transfer period.
During the first match of the season, the ex-OpTic roster revealed its new name - "LOL". In the second match the following day, MaNiaC was replaced by substitute RyaNoob. The following week, after an 0-2 start to the season, LOL went with Renegade as a sub in place of MaNiaC. With Renegade on board, LOL improved its standing, winning two matches and holding a 2-4 record after week 3 and sitting in 7th place. Despite their wins with Renegade, on October 11, the team announced that they were going with Eco, formerly of Luminosity Gaming, as the official replacement for MaNiaC. This move reunited the Team Liquid roster that finished in the top 8 at Halo World Championship 2016. On November 3, just before the matches for Week 6, Day 2 began, it was announced that the LOL roster had been acquired by the newly formed Str8 Rippin organization.
