MLG Philadelphia 2004, also known as the Halo Nationals, was the second event of the 2004 MLG season, taking place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from February 21-22, 2004. Halo: CE was played in 4v4, 2v2 and FFA tournaments.
Originally supposed to be an independent event, the Halo Nationals were merged with Major League Gaming to become the second ever MLG event. MLG brought some familiar names on board for the event, including Chris Puckett as Tournament Director and Adam Apicella as Event Coordinator. This event holds the distinction of being the first MLG event to feature the Ogre twins Ogre 1 and Ogre 2 and their first team, Shoot to Kill (StK) in attendance. Alongside Clockwork and Strangepurple, the twins began their MLG dynasty by winning the event, which also featured other prominent Halo talent such as Zyos, Saiyan and KillerN. On top of winning the 4v4, the Ogres (playing separately) took the top two spots in the 2v2, and the top two spots in the FFA. A display of domination which only foreshadowed the shadow they would cast on their MLG competition for years to come.
