Most Wanted entered the Halo scene on October 5, 2016, acquiring the top Open Circuit team - The Chatt Shade Squad - consisting of Nemassist, LifeStyle, DasTroyed, and Boamx. Four days later, the squad attended its first major event - HCS Orange County 2016. Starting in the Open Bracket, MW went undefeated en route to clinching a berth in the Open Circuit Finals at HCS Las Vegas 2016. On Championship Sunday, Most Wanted nearly upset the top Pro League team - Team EnVyUs, narrowly losing a 3-2 series in a close Game 5. Most Wanted then made a Losers' Bracket run, sweeping For Wade and 3sUP and defeating The MoneyMatches Team 3-1. They were then defeated 3-1 by Team Liquid, ending their event with a 4th place finish. In the following weeks, the safely qualified Most Wanted took a few steps back in the online cups, with placings as low as top 6. They had a top 6 finish at UGC St. Louis 2016 - good enough to qualify for the Esports Minor League Fall 2016 Season. On November 1, BoamX was released. Most Wanted used Scaryotic as a sub in the final week before announcing the acquisition of Swift Kill as their official fourth the following day. At the Open Circuit Finals in Las Vegas, Most Wanted attempted to qualify for Relegation through the Open Circuit Finals, but were only able to muster a top 6 finish. They followed this up with a top 12 finish in the main tournament. Going into the Esports Minor League roster lock, Most Wanted made a team change, replacing the departing LifeStyle with RyaNoob.
