Biography
Mason Cobb was born on February 17, 1990. He is from Mukilteo, Washington.
Halo 2
2005-06: Early days
Mason Cobb started his professional gaming career as "ilbthug" with a top 8 finish at MLG Seattle 2005 as a member of team T Baggin Crew. He played in 2 more tournaments in the 2005 season on teams Limited Edition and Team Chuck Wolfman (as Toxinsneighbor, a reference to frequent teammate Toxin) but he would not top his Seattle placing.
Neighbor entered the 2006 season at MLG Anaheim 2006 as a member of Triggers Down. They would place 5th at the event, which would be Neighbor's best placing in 2006. Triggers Down returned at MLG Chicago 2006, placing 12th. A similar roster attended the MLG New York Playoffs 2006 under the name MoB GamerGraffix.com, where they took 10th place.
2007: Str8 Rippin
Neighbor started the 2007 season at MLG Charlotte 2007 as a member of Make it Rain, with former Final Boss member Saiyan among others, attending as simply "Neighbor" for the first time. Make it Rain placed only 21st in Charlotte, but Neighbor would shortly after join team Str8 Rippin, a rising force in MLG Halo. Neighbor's first event with Str8 was disappointing, garnering only an 11th place finish at MLG Dallas 2007, but they improved on the placing with 7th at MLG Dallas 2007. Finally, Str8 Rippin assembled a roster of Neighbor, Tsquared, ElamiteWarrior and Legit, and placed 2nd at MLG Chicago 2007. This roster returned at MLG Orlando 2007, where Str8 Rippin placed 1st, winning Neighbor his first event. Str8 would return at the 2007 MLG Las Vegas National Championships, where they would place 3rd. Str8 then attended the last ever MLG Halo 2 event, the MLG Canada Open, placing 2nd.
Halo 3
2008: Str8 Rippin to Final Boss
The successful Str8 Rippin roster returned for MLG Halo 3 competition, placing 5th at the MLG Meadowlands 2008 season opener. Str8 then returned at MLG San Diego 2008, placing 1st and winning Neighbor his second (and final) event. Despite a respectable 2nd place finish at MLG Orlando 2008, Neighbor left Str8 Rippin and joined Final Boss with Ogre 1, Ogre 2 and Strongside. In Neighbor's three events with Final Boss, they would place 3rd at MLG Toronto 2008, 3rd at MLG Dallas 2008 and 4th at the 2008 MLG Las Vegas National Championships.
2009: Instinct
Neighbor started the 2009 season with a team that he would end up spending the entirety of the season on: Instinct, with Lunchbox, Roy and Walshy. This lineup would take 2nd place at the MLG Meadowlands 2009 season opener, and 5th at MLG Columbus 2009. Walshy was then replaced by GH057ayame, and the new roster placed 3rd at MLG Dallas 2009. GH057ayame was then replaced by FearitSelf, and the new roster placed 7th at MLG Anaheim 2009 and 4th at the 2009 MLG Orlando National Championships.
2010: Return to Triggers Down
Neighbor began 2010 by returning to Triggers Down, replacing Heinz on the very successful squad from 2009, also featuring Hysteria, SK and iGotUrPistola. Despite expectations, Triggers Down placed only 6th at the MLG Orlando 2010 season opener, and iGotUrPistola was replaced by Totz. Things did not initially improve for Triggers Down, with an 8th placing at MLG Columbus 2010, but after SK was replaced by Best Man, things started to look up for Triggers Down. They placed 3rd at MLG Raleigh 2010, and 2nd at MLG Washington, D.C. 2010, ending the season and the Halo 3 era with a 4th place finish at the 2010 MLG Dallas National Championships.
Halo: Reach
2011-12: Impact; Returns to Str8 Rippin and Triggers Down
For the beginning of the 2011 Halo: Reach season, Neighbor joined team Impact, the team that had won the Halo: Reach exhibition in Dallas. Impact placed 2nd at the MLG Dallas 2011 season opener, but Neighbor then left the team to join Believe the Hype. This would result in Neighbor's worst placement since 2007, with a 13th place finish at MLG Columbus 2011. Neighbor would then rejoin Str8 Rippin, reforming the lineup that he had won two events with in 2007 and 2008. However, the magic was not there, and the reformed Str8 Rippin squad would place 14th at MLG Anaheim 2011 and 20th at MLG Raleigh 2011 before breaking up. Neighbor would then reform Triggers Down with Best Man, Arkanum and Goofy, and return to the Top 6 with a 6th placing at MLG Orlando 2011. The Triggers Down squad would return at the 2011 MLG Providence National Championships, but would place only 10th.
Neighbor then attended the final MLG Halo: Reach event, the MLG Winter Championship 2012 as a member of The Agency with FearitSelf, SK and Victory X. They placed a disappointing 17-24th.
Halo 4
Neighbor returned to Triggers Down again for the only MLG Halo 4 event, the MLG Fall Championship 2012, with Hysteria, Elumnite and Naded. They placed 13-16th.
Neighbor attended one AGL event, AGL 7 Knoxville as a member of Slaughterhouse with Best Man, Aries and Regicide. They placed 5-6th. Neighbor and Best Man then joined forces with FlamesworD and Enable on Status Quo for AGL 8 Knoxville. They took a strong 3rd place finish at the event. Neighbor retired after this event as he joined 343 Industries and became ineligible to compete at tournaments.
