Nice Like Rice is a former Halo team that achieved moderate success in the 2006 and 2007 MLG seasons. For its entire run on the MLG Pro Circuit, it was captained by Jordan "LegendJRG" Blackburn.

History

Halo 2

Nice Like Rice was founded in the midst of the 2006 MLG season by Jordan "LegendJRG" Blackburn, "RioOoOo", "FireIsHot" and "snwborder5". They took 17th place at their first event, MLG Anaheim 2006. NLR returned at MLG Chicago 2006 with a revised lineup, having replaced FireIsHot with Juan "Donut" Remacha. The new lineup showed improvement, taking 10th place at the event. For the next event in Orlando, NLR replaced snwborder5 with Raymond "Ray" Markham. The new lineup again took 10th at the event. For the MLG New York Playoffs 2006 qualifying event, NLR replaced Donut with "Scrub". The new squad took 11th place at the event, failing to qualify for the MLG Las Vegas Championships 2006.

NLR made big changes going into the 2007 season. LegendJRG and Ray stuck together and recruited Gavin "Havok" Smith and "Butt3rZ". The new lineup placed in the money for the first time, taking 6th place at MLG Charlotte 2007. The same roster repeated the 6th place finish at MLG Meadowlands 2007. Looking to improve, LegendJRG and Ray once again recruited two new teammates in the form of Peter "Foulacy" Dietrich and Jake "Pyrocy" Neff. The new squad took 5th place at MLG Dallas 2007. At MLG Chicago 2007, NLR took a step back, being upset by former member Donut and his new team Time 2 Prove early in Winners'. They were then eliminated by 13th seeded Perfect Balance, taking 15th overall. Legend again decided to retool the roster, this time replacing Ray and Foulacy with Paul "Slim" MiDeck and Corey "Bonfire" Howard. The new squad took an impressive 3rd place finish at MLG Orlando 2007, earning the 6th seed going into the Las Vegas National Championships. Unfortunately for NLR, they were unable to win a series at the big event, first losing closely to Str8 Rippin before being swept out of Losers' by FBI ICON. They then lost their 7th place consolation match to PainX, taking 8th place and $8,000.

A makeshift NLR squad attended the MLG Canadian Open 2007 event, consisting of LegendJRG and a returning Ray alongside "Hewy" and "Chronic Lies". The squad took 5th place.

Halo 3

Nice Like Rice returned for the debut Halo 3 event - MLG Meadowlands 2008. The roster which included LegendJRG, Ray, "Rudy" and an unknown fourth did not make it out of the open bracket. The team temporarily disbanded as Legend competed on another team for MLG San Diego 2008, but he brought it back for MLG Orlando 2008 with a roster of himself, "SwisHaa", "RephoriK" and "Milk". The new roster took 17th place at the event. This would be the last appearance of Nice Like Rice at an MLG event.
