Reality Check is a North American esports team.
History
Halo 3
Reality Check was founded in 2009 by the Suddoth twins, Suddoth 1 and Suddoth 2, who have been on every roster to date. Reality Check's first MLG event was MLG Dallas 2009. They attended MLG Columbus 2010, placing 29th. They would attend two more events in 2010 and finish with a 21st placing in Raleigh and 17th in D.C.. Reality Check would continue attending events in 2011, usually placing in the 20s. Though they ended up placing 22nd, Reality Check had a highlight moment in Columbus when they upset the 4th seeded Warriors squad in pool play. At the first (and only) MLG Halo 4 event, the 2012 Fall Championship, Reality Check picked up its highest placing yet, with a top 8 finish. Despite MLG dropping Halo 4 after this event, the Suddoths built on this achievement at other events for Halo 4, with top 8 placings at AGL 5 Nashville and UMG Chicago, and top 6 placings at AGL 7 Knoxville and the 2014 Rooster Teeth Expo.
Halo 2 Anniversary
With the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo 2: Anniversary, and the launch of the Halo Championship Series, Reality Check continued with its momentum, picking up ContrA and PreDevoNator, gaining a sponsorship from Noble eSports and placing 7th at Iron Gaming Columbus 2014. After this event, Contra and Devon left, and were replaced by Sargoth and Shooter. This squad finished with a respectable 8th placing at UGC St. Louis 2015. Following UGC St. Louis, Shooter left the team, Reality Check lost the Noble sponsorship, and Sargoth left shortly after. Reality Check picked up iTz So Frosty and Very Nerdy to fill the gaps. At some point before Gamers For Giving 2015, Reality Check picked up a sponsorship from VexX Gaming. At Gamers For Giving, VexX Reality Check was knocked out of the Winners Bracket early by Evil Geniuses. They then made a run through the Losers Bracket, defeating End Result, and upsetting 8th seed Noble Black. Reality Check then lost to Cloud9 in the following round, and closed the tournament out defeating Legendary in consolation, securing themselves a 7th place finish, but they did not qualify for the season finals. Soon after Gamers For Giving, Frosty and Nerdy left, leaving Reality Check as a team of two with the Suddoths. To fill the holes, the Suddoths recruited two foreign players - Septic from the UK, and Burton, from Canada. The new roster finished in the top 12 at Iron Games Atlanta 2015, being eliminated by Winterfox. Following Iron Games Atlanta, Burton left to rejoin his former team, leaving Reality Check looking for a fourth. They seemingly found that fourth in Tragic, whose move from Annex to Reality Check was announced on May 1. Despite the announced acquisition of Tragic, it was actually Domey who played with them during HCS Cup #1. After the cup, Domey confirmed that he was officially a member of Reality Check.< After six straight top 16 finishes, Reality Check finally entered the top 8 when they defeated Team Liquid in the round of 16 in Cup 7. They were unable to ride this momentum into HCS Indianapolis however, as they were defeated 2-0 by Team Liquid before being eliminated by Counter Logic Gaming for a top 12 finish.
