Biography

Ryan Danford was born on October 20, 1985. He is from Cary, North Carolina.

Halo: CE

Saiyan started his Halo career at the Halo50k event in 2003. His first team consisted of himself, Deeta, Gestapo and Ryu and was called Danford/Moore, referencing his and Ryu's last names. Saiyan and his team took 2nd place at the event. Saiyan and Gestapo then attended Halo50k2, placing top 4 in the 2v2. Saiyan and DM then attended their first MLG event, MLG Philadelphia finishing 4th. Saiyan placed top 4 in the FFA. For the MLG Dallas 3v3 event, Saiyan and Deeta teamed up with Clockwork to form team Maximum Pwnz0rz. They placed top 4. Saiyan and Clockwork were then recruited by Darkman and Alex to join The Dream Team for AGP 4. It was here where Saiyan would make his first major statement in Halo, coming up huge with a killing spree to help his team get the win over Zyos and his Amazing Pickles squad in the finals. Saiyan was then recruited by Ogre1, Ogre2 and Strangepurple of the dominant Shoot to Kill squad for MLG Chicago. Saiyan and Ogre1 would come out victorious in the 2v2, but the team would fall to Team FFA in the 4v4. Strangepurple was then replaced by Clockwork for MLG Atlanta, but it would not change the result, as StK were again defeated in the finals by Team FFA. This time, Saiyan placed 2nd in the 2v2, losing with partner Clockwork to the Ogre twins in the finals. After Atlanta, the Ogre twins left, leaving Saiyan and Clockwork to form FU Gintron with Scythe and Toxin. They finished 4th at MLG Seattle.

After Seattle, Saiyan took a mid-season hiatus and returned at MLG Los Angeles as part of team Business Decision with NistiC, Strangepurple and Sergio. They won the event, and Saiyan placed 2nd in the 2v2 with Strangepurple. Saiyan then formed The Chargers with KillerN, Toxin and Tupac for MLG Boston, where Saiyan again placed 1st in the 4v4. He also took a top 4 placing in the FFA at this event. Saiyan then reformed "=Business Decision with his Los Angeles teammates for the MLG New York National Championships, where they placed 3rd.

Halo 2

Saiyan began Halo 2 by returning to Shoot to Kill alongside Ogre 1, Ogre 2 and Walshy. They started the 2005 season off winning 5 events in a row: D.C., San Francisco, Houston, Orlando and St. Louis. During this time, StK was picked up by sponsor Team 3D and the team changed its name accordingly. Str8 Rippin ended 3D's run of 5 tournaments in a row at MLG Philadelphia 2005. However, Team 3D did win the Halo 1 portion of the event. After the defeat at MLG Philadelphia, Saiyan and Team 3D went on to win a record 8 tournaments in a row including the New York National Championships. In 2006, Team 3D changed its name to Final Boss and it seemed to be more of the same for Saiyan's squad, winning the first four events of the season, but trouble arose when they closed the season out with three straight 2nd place finishes, losing to Carbon each time. Saiyan was dropped from Final Boss after the 2006 season, and started off 2007 on "Make It Rain" alongside Boo, Detach and Neighbor. They managed only a 21st place finish in Charlotte. Saiyan did not manage any better in Meadowlands, finishing outside of the top 32 on "The Raincallers" with Detach, Burns and Lunatic. He retired shortly after this event.

Trivia

  • Saiyan's name is based on the Saiyan race from the popular anime Dragon Ball Z.
