Team Allegiance (formerly Allegiance eSports) is an American esports organization that fields teams in Halo 5: Guardians, Smite, and Call of Duty: Black Ops III. It was founded in October 2015 by Connor "InStiiNcT" Hall.
History
Halo 5: Guardians
Allegiance eSports announced its first esports team on October 25, 2015, a Halo team composed of Naded, Str8 SicK, Goofy, and eL ToWn. This roster would not last very long however, as on December 6, they announced the release of Goofy and Str8 SicK and the acquisition of Suspector and Cratos. Allegiance finished 1st in the second online NA Qualifier, the first tournament win in any game for the new organization. Two weeks later, they finished 1st in the fourth qualifier, becoming the first team to win two. After the five qualifiers, Allegiance emerged as the #1 seed with the highest average placing, and as one of few teams to play in all five qualifiers with the same roster. At the X Games Aspen 2016 invitational, Allegiance proved their online success was not a fluke, as they dominated Renegades in two separate series, defeated Team Liquid and Epsilon eSports, and took two games off of Evil Geniuses in a close series on their way to a third place finish and a Bronze Medal. At the NA Regionals, Allegiance came out strong, going 3-0 in the group stage, clinching a spot at Halo World Championship 2016. In the bracket, Allegiance had a relatively easy time ousting Noble eSports, but hit a roadblock against 11th seeded Denial eSports. Denial, fresh off upsetting Team EnVyUs and Team Liquid earlier in the tournament, would take the series against Allegiance in 7 games, ending their night with another top 4 finish. At Worlds, Allegiance started off rocky, losing 3-0 to Team Liquid in group stage. They managed to advance from their pool, defeating Chosen Squad and exceL eSports, and kicked off bracket play with a comeback win over Renegades, who were up 2-0 in the series before Allegiance won the final 3 games of the series. In the second round, Allegiance defeated Team eLevate 4-2, earning a spot in the finals against Counter Logic Gaming. CLG swept ALG 4-0 in the finals, ending Allegiance's night with a 2nd place $500,000 finish. On March 22, Cratos announced on social media that he was looking for a team for the Pro League, suggesting that he has entered free agency. Later that night, it was announced that Suspector was leaving Allegiance to join Evil Geniuses. The next day, org manager InStiiNcT confirmed in a forum post that Naded and Cratos were no longer a part of the organization and that he was moving forward with eL ToWn. InStiiNcT also shed some light on the contract specifics for the team during the Halo World Championship 2016 season. Despite InStiiNcT's intentions to move forward with eL ToWn, the final remaining Allegiance member confirmed his departure from the organization on April 5.
On April 22, 2016, Team Allegiance announced its new roster, featuring a returning Goofy alongside Ryanoob, ContrA, and PreDevoNatoR.. The new roster's first event was the Summer Qualifier, where they went 2-0 in their pool, defeating Soul eSports Red 3-0 and Team EnVyUs 4-1 to qualify for the HCS Pro League. After posting an unimpressive 1-5 record in the first 3 weeks of the Pro League season, Allegiance released Goofy. The day after the release of Goofy, the organization announced the addition of Heinz to the roster, as well as the temporary addition of Rammyy, substituting for the absent RyaNoob in Week 4's matches. Allegiance ultimately finished 6th in the Pro League, not enough to qualify for Finals but enough to qualify for the Fall Season. After the conclusion of the season, ContrA and Devon parted ways with RyaNoob and Heinz. After trying out a number of rosters, they settled on the acquisitions of Shooter from Enigma6 Group and Falcated from Denial eSports. After an unfortunate start to the season which, despite multiple close matches, left them sitting in 8th place with a 1-5 record after Week 3, Shooter left Allegiance to return to his former team Enigma6. This left Allegiance unable to attend HCS Orange County 2016 as they did not have a confirmed roster. They announced their new fourth on October 17 - a returning Str8 SicK. The acquisition of Str8 SicK failed to improve Allegiance's fortunes, as they were able to win only two matches with him and finished in 8th place with a 3-11 record, facing potential Relegation. At the HCS Las Vegas 2016 LAN event, a different Allegiance showed up. The last place squad tore through Dynasty and Str8 Rippin before a narrow loss to Team Liquid sent them to Losers, where they took out 3sUP and, again, Str8 Rippin, before a 3-1 loss to Team EnVyUs ended their event with a 3rd place finish. At Relegation, Allegiance made short work of The MoneyMatches Team before being beaten 4-2 by Enigma6 Group. In the Losers Finals, Allegiance defeated 3sUP 4-2 to save their pro seed.
On December 14, ContrA confirmed his departure from Team Allegiance, stating that he was "in the middle of filing the release paperwork". Weeks later, on January 12, PreDevoNatoR joined ContrA when he left Team Allegiance to join Evil Geniuses. The following day, Allegiance announced its new roster acquisition of the Problem Solvers team, consisting of Spartan, Commonly, Danoxide, and a returning Suspector, with coach Strobe. At their first event - UGC St. Louis 2017 - Allegiance made quick work of the Open Bracket, losing only to Inconceivable. In the Championship Bracket, Allegiance started off slow with a 3-1 loss to Str8 Rippin, but turned things around in the Open Bracket with back to back 3-0 victories over Earthroot Gaming and SetToDestroyX. They were then defeated again by Inconceivable, ending their tournament with a top 8 finish. This wasn't enough for Allegiance, and they decided to drop Danoxide and replace him with TriPPPeY, the team officially confirming the acquisition on February 24. Three days later, Allegiance announced its new coach - Hoaxer. At ME Las Vegas 2017, Allegiance came out strong, mowing through the Open Bracket to secure the 9th seed in the Championship Bracket. In the main bracket, their fortunes quickly changed with a humbling 3-0 loss to Splyce. They bounced back with victories over ImPerium and Team CryptiK, but their bid to qualify for Worlds was crushed in a dramatic 4-2 loss to Danoxide's new team Pnda Gaming. The following week, Allegiance had another chance to qualify in the Last Chance Qualifier, but they were unsuccessful, placing 4th overall after losses to Team CryptiK and Splyce. Days later, on March 16, InStiiNcT made a post on Team Beyond revealing that the organization was withdrawing from competitive Halo.
