On January 17, Exile5 entered the Halo World Championship 2016 qualifying race when they picked up the former Team Sidewinder roster of Owen "Bald" Trembath, Kurtis "KurtiZ" Papple, Jakob "Colt" West and Hayden "Zerkil" Stavely. Replacing KurtiZ on the active roster was Adam "Adz" Hall shortly after the roster acquisition. Exile5 qualified for the ANZ Regional Finals with a 2nd place finish in the final qualifying cup. With Kurt reprising his role in Adz' absence, Exile5 took 1st place at the AvT Auckland 2016 event in New Zealand. At the ANZ Regional Finals, Adz returned and helped Exile5 take a strong 2nd place finish, qualifying for the Halo World Championship as the 2nd ANZ seed. At Worlds, Exile5 went 0-3 in group play, notably taking Team Infused to 5 games. Unfortunately, this was not enough to make it out of their group, and they finished top 16.
