Cameron "Victory X" Thorlakson is a retired American player known for his long career playing for teams like Final Boss (with whom he won the 2010 MLG National Championship), Cloud9, Renegades, and his signature team, The Agency.
Biography
Cameron Thorlakson was born on October 7, 1989. His hometown is West Bloomfield, Michigan.
Halo 2
Victory X started off his Professional Gaming career with a 14th place finish at MLG Chicago 2005. His team, FBI Michigan, consisted of Moocow, Natuku, and Slim. FBI Michigan consistently placed top 8 throughout a majority of the 2006 MLG season.
Halo 3
Victory went through a major team change as FBI Michigan changed their name to The Agency. Elamite Warrior and SK replaced Slim and Tupac in 2007. That roster recorded 3 consecutive top 4 finishes before ElamiteWarrior was swapped for Naded. The Agency continued to have success and placed 4th at the MLG Las Vegas 2007 National Championship. Victory played for 3 different teams in 2008 including Instinct, Triggers Down and Classic. His highest placing was 3rd at the MLG Meadowlands 2008 Opener and his lowest placing was 6th at the MLG Las Vegas 2008 National Championship. The next season, Victory X joined Final Boss, with FearItself, Mackeo and Ogre 2. He placed 3rd at MLG Columbus 2009 which was his highest placing of the season. After spending the entire season with Final Boss, Victory had a breakout year in 2010. He won the final 3 events, including the MLG Dallas 2010 National Championship. The Final Boss roster featured FearItself, Pistola, and Ogre 2.
Halo: Reach
After a 1st place finish at the Championships, Victory and Final Boss plummeted to 10th place at the MLG Dallas 2011 Opener. Ninja and Totz replaced Pistola and Ogre 2 at MLG Columbus 2012, which gave Victory a 5th place finish, his highest of the 2011 season.
Halo 4
Victory attended only one Halo 4 event, AGL 3 Chicago, as a member of Status Quo. He placed 5th.
Halo 2: Anniversary
Victory reformed his old team, The Agency, with teammates FearitSelf, Ninja and Hysteria at the ESL MCC Launch Invitational, placing top 6. The Agency roster was signed by eSports organization Cloud9 soon after the ESL event. Cloud9 placed 4th at Iron Games Columbus 2014, 5th at UGC St. Louis 2015 and 4th at Gamers For Giving 2015. They went into the season finals at PAX East 2015 as the #5 seed, where they again placed 4th.
Cloud9 made a roster change in the offseason, dropping Ninja in favor of iGotUrPistola, a former teammate of Victory's from the MLG days. With the departure of Ninja, Victory was named the new team captain. The new roster earned Cloud9 their highest HCS placing, finishing 3rd at Iron Games Atlanta 2015. Victory and Cloud9 had a less impressive 6th place finish at HCS Indianapolis, but rebounded at the HCS Season 2 Finals to finish off the season with a 4th place finish.
Halo 5: Guardians
Cloud9 disbanded in the offseason. He eventually found himself on a Renegades roster alongside Spartan, Ninja and StelluR, after many team changes in a short time period. Renegades' first event was the X Games Aspen 2016 invitational, where they finished 4th. Following the X Games, Renegades successfully qualified for NA Regionals and finished top 8, good enough to qualify for Halo World Championship 2016. At Worlds, Renegades finished top 8, taking home $25,000.
Following Worlds, Renegades made roster changes, with StelluR and Spartan being replaced by Commonly and Penguin. This roster qualified for the Summer Pro League with a 2nd place finish in their group at the Summer Qualifier. At the conclusion of the season, Renegades sat at 4th place in the standings, good enough to qualify for the Season Finals. On July 25, Victory and the rest of the Renegades roster departed to join Cloud9, marking Cam's second stint with the organization. At the Season Finals, C9 finished 4th, taking home $15,000. Shortly after the finals, Victory and Ninja were dropped from Cloud9. They eventually joined Evil Geniuses alongside Victory's former teammates Roy and Lunchbox. EG started the Fall Season off strong, defeating the dominant OpTic Gaming squad in Week 1, but ran into resistance in Week 3, losing two straight 0-3 series. This resulted in Victory X being dropped from the team. He ended up joining Luminosity Gaming alongside Naded, Danoxide and eL TowN. Luminosity ended up just missing out on qualifying for the Season Finals in the final week, finishing with a 6-8 record good enough for 5th place.
During the offseason, Luminosity made changes, replacing Naded and Danoxide with Ninja and TriPPPeY. At the new roster's first event together - UGC St. Louis 2017 - they placed in the top 8. After UGC, Luminosity replaced TriPPPeY with Saiyan. At ME Las Vegas 2017, Luminosity managed to qualify for Halo World Championship 2017 after a 4-1 victory over Splyce. They ultimately finished in the top 6 after a loss to Team EnVyUs. At Worlds, Luminosity were placed in a pool with London Conspiracy and Team Liquid. They finished below Liquid following a 3-0 loss and emerged in the Winners Bracket with a match against Splyce. Luminosity took the heated contest 4-3 and moved into the jaws of OpTic Gaming, who swept them out of the bracket. In Losers, Luminosity were swept by the eventual second place finishers in Team EnVyUs and went home with a top 6 finish.
After Worlds, Luminosity made a team change, replacing eL ToWn with a returning TriPPPeY. At UMG Daytona, Luminosity finished 2nd in its pool. In the Championship Bracket, they were upset early by Oxygen Supremacy in a 3-0 sweep. They managed to eliminate Believe the Hype and Evil Geniuses before bowing out to Splyce for a top 8 finish.
